BIO

John O’Neill is a music director, arranger and composer. He was recently the Music Director and
Music Supervisor for the Broadway production of Harmony by Barry Manilow and Bruce
Sussman, for which he also wrote vocal and incidental arrangements. He was also Music
Supervisor for the original cast recording of Harmony.

 

John was Dance Arranger for the 2025 Broadway revival of Pirates! The Penzance Musical on
Broadway choreographed by Warren Carlyle. His dance arrangements were featured on the
2025 Tony Awards. Additional Dance and Incidental Music credits include Hugh Jackman’s
World Tour, PBS’ Great Performances- Celebrating 50 Years Of Broadway, The Ballad Of Little Jo
(music by Mike Reid, lyrics by Sarah Schlesinger), Radio City Spring Spectacular starring the
Rockettes, Carefree: Dancin’ With Fred And Ginger (also serving as orchestrator, vocal arranger
and music director).

 

His arrangements are featured on the original cast recordings of Harmony (Music Supervisor),
Pirates! The Penzance Musical (Dance Arranger), The Ballad Of Little Jo (arranger and
conductor) and as the pianist for the original cast recording of Children of Eden.
Other Broadway Credits include Cabaret at Studio 54 (Associate conductor), A Chorus Line
(conductor and keyboards), Jesus Christ Superstar (keyboards).
His numerous regional credits as Music Director include productions at Papermill Playhouse,
Williamstown Theatre Festival, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Fulton Opera House,

Two River Theater.
 

As a composer John has written numerous musicals for young audiences. His one man show,
Feels Like Coming Home was performed at the Afternoon Music concert series in Summit New
Jersey in 2025 which features original songs and stories of from his career in the theater as a
musician, creator and lifelong lover of musical theater.

 

As vocal coach and accompanist John served on the faculty of the Juilliard School, Drama
Division for 6 years in addition to NYU CAP 21 and Rutgers University Mason Gross

School of The Arts.
